Zahid Group Companies Win Significant Oilfield Equipment Manufacturing Contract

Core Solutions for Petroleum Products LLC (CORE) and Zahid Tractor will combine to build 3 wireline trucks in conjunction with German OEM partner GOES. The contract awarded earlier this year will see the first of the three trucks constructed in Germany by GOES with CORE’s involvement and support. The subsequent two trucks will then be built in KSA by CORE.  Zahid Tractor will provide the bespoke Volvo truck design, while CORE will be responsible for completing all in-Kingdom topside equipment installation and testing prior to handing over the completed assets to the Customer. This historic contract will see Wireline trucks built in Saudi Arabia for the first time, and it represents a key step towards localization, building local competencies, and supporting IKTVA and Vision 2030 programmes. The equipment is due for delivery in early 2025.

Speaking on behalf of CORE, General Manager Robbie Pond said, “We are thrilled to receive this contract and are humbled to build the first Wireline Trucks here in KSA. It is a testament to Saudi Aramco’s localization strategy that they have sourced this equipment from the local market, and we thank them for their trust and continued support.”

Ahmed Ismail, Volvo Trucks Brand Manager, added on behalf of Zahid Tractor, “To see our Saudi-built Volvo Trucks being used for the first time to manufacture In-Kingdom built Wireline Trucks is a great feeling.  We’re grateful to support such a fantastic project, and we hope these three units are the first of many more to come to Saudi and other areas within the region.”
