Opening of advanced training facility

JEDDAH: The strategic learning and development arm of the Zahid Group has launched a new advanced technical training facility to help Saudi youths find employment in the company’s technical sectors.

Director General of the Labor Office for the Western Region Qusai Al-Filali inaugurated the new facility, developed by the Zahid Learning Center (ZLC), in the presence of representatives from the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Office of the Employment of Special Needs and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), among others.

“This new advanced technical training unit augments the existing advanced Zahid Learning Center and provides specialized content that enhances the skills, abilities and creativity of young Saudi apprentices through practical application of what they learn in their theoretical study in specialized labs as well as on the job in real workshops,” said Amr Khashoggi, vice president for the group’s corporate affairs.

“By offering a comprehensive range of advanced training programs, the new Zahid Technical Training Facility provides valuable support for our long term strategic plan to enrich our Saudi cadres with highly skilled and qualified men and women, including those with special needs.”

The facility also features a simulated operator training department, boasting the only virtual reality simulators of its kind in the region.

The center is fully equipped with the latest electronic devices and mechanisms to enhance the training process and provide real-life work situations, with an emphasis on safety.

“I am very impressed by what I saw today and I heartily congratulate the Saudi graduates who have shown their willingness to learn and elevate their career prospects to become vital contributors to the economic development of their country,” said Al-Filali.

The launch of the new center coincides with the graduation of the second batch of apprentices who have successfully completed their three-year training program as part of an agreement signed between group subsidiary Zahid Tractor and the HRDF.

“I am delighted to welcome the graduates to their new designations at Zahid Tractor, where they will be given every opportunity to showcase their abilities as a means of realizing their respective career path ambitions,” said Director of Zahid Group’s Personnel Development and Administration Wafaa Hashem Zawawi.

Zahid Group has been working with the HRDF since 2006. To date, ZLC has trained and recruited several groups of talented Saudis in mechanics, sales, finance, administration and management, including a number of special needs employees.

Zahid Group has adopted the Zahid Nationalization Program as part of its corporate vision for all its companies. The program offers attractive incentives for talented young Saudis, including allowances, regular learning and development programs, as well as advancement opportunities within the company.

Zahid Learning Center has grown and prospered since its inception in 2005. ZLC’s programs cover all major facets of an organization, including but not limited to soft skills, technical, sales and marketing, languages, computer, management and leadership training.

Director General of Labor Office inaugurates Zahid’s new technical training facility

Building on their success in offering world class training programs, the strategic learning and development arm of Zahid tractor, Zahid Learning Center (ZLC), has launched a new advanced technical training facility to qualify Saudi youth for employment in the company’s technical sectors.

H.E. Mr. Qusai Al-Filali, Director General of the Labor Office for the Western Region, inaugurated the new facility in the presence of representatives from the Human Resources Development Fund, representatives from the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Office of the Employment of Special Needs, officials from the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) as well as top executives from the Zahid Group of Companies.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Amr Khashoggi, Zahid Group’s Vice President Corporate Affairs said, “This new advanced technical training unit augments the existing advanced Zahid Learning Center and provides specialized content that enhances the skills, abilities and creativity of young Saudi apprentices through practical application of what they learnt in their theoretical study in specialized labs as well as on the job in real workshops.”

He went on to say, “By offering a comprehensive range of advanced training programs, the new Zahid Technical Training Facility provides valuable support for our long term strategic plan to enrich our Saudi cadres with highly skilled and qualified men and women, including those with special needs.”

This technical training facility offers developmental initiatives that include: electric power generation; electronics; hydraulics, power trains, engine components, assembly and disassembly, and a simulated operator training department boasting the only virtual reality simulators of its kind in the region. The center is fully equipped with the latest electronic devices and mechanisms to enhance the training process and assist in providing as close to real-life situations as possible. With all the technical advancements this facility has to offer, safety is most certainly at the core of operation, and part and parcel of all phases of training.

In a speech delivered to mark the opening of the center, Mr. Qusai Al-Filali stated: “The private sector is main partner of the government in recruiting and training of young Saudis to qualify them for jobs commensurate with their talents and I express my appreciation to Zahid Tractor and the Group for the excellent work the company is doing in this field. I am very impressed by what I saw today and I heartily congratulate the Saudi graduates who have shown their willingness to learn and elevate their career prospects to become vital contributors to the economic development of their country.”

The launch of the new center coincides with the graduation of the second batch of apprentices who have successfully completed the three-year training program that consists of Technical Training, Soft Skills, English language, and Computer training, as part of the agreement signed between Zahid Tractor and the Human Resources Development Fund.

Also speaking at the graduation ceremony, Eng.
